SIUE Student Excels at National Nurse Anesthetist College Scholar Bowl

AANA College BowlSouthern Illinois University Edwardsville bookish man Emily Robson took home top meed; honors; laurels for using her knowledge on anesthesia-based topics at the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) College Scholar Bowl. The conclusion was held during the organization’s public conference in Salt Lake City in August.

Robson represented SIUE forward a team of six students studying at universities over the nation. Teams answered board-review type questions regarding chemistry, anatomy and science of the functions of animals and vegetables, pediatric/neonatal, obstetrics, pharmacology and else.

 “It was exciting to delineate SIUE in the college bowl,” uttered Robson, a senior in the SIUE Nurse Anesthetist program. “The team I was put ~ first competed against other teams collected of nurse anesthesia students. Once we defeated the close examiner teams, we went on to reach against a team of practicing anesthetists. They were distinguished sports, but that was especially rewarding.”

Attending professional conferences like this is heavily promoted ~ means of the SIUE Nurse Anesthetist program, according to program boss Andrew Griffin. In fact, the University is rated in the midst of the top five programs in the people in student participation in professional organizations rear graduation.

“We feel that section of being a professional anesthesia provider is inner reality engrained in the profession and erudition and networking with people, and intellect what the healthcare industry is wholly about,” explained Griffin.
