AYUSH doctors can be employed but cannot assit surgery – Says IMA

PUNE: The perpetually-present fight of 2014 between the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (AYUSH) doctors has taken a diverse turn.

IMA, which always stressed that AYUSH doctors should not be hired by hospitals and had likewise appealed to major hospitals to escape from BAMS and BHMS doctors, has at this time changed its tune.

State IMA chief Dr.T.C.Rathod declared, “Our initial stand on AYUSH was reality misused by certain politicians to create a rift between both parties. Dr Arun Halbe, president, IMA Pune part, said, “A provision mentions that Ayurveda doctors are allowed to use 52 drugs in case of outermost emergencies but the same does not have the superiority for homoeopathy and naturopathy. The pharmacology route was suggested for the benefit of politicians, being of the kind which most of them or their relatives are running excessively 40 homeopathy colleges in the commonwealth which are falling short of students.”

“The war between AYUSH and allopathy doctors has reached the elevated court which is giving way to further tiffs. To help us all be in action together and in peace, we uttered that any homoeopathy doctor practising allopathy will face cancellation of his licence and registration,” said Dr.Ramjee Singh, President, Central Council of Homeopathy of India.

“We have also communicated our anger against the intimation of the pharmacology course to CM Devendra Fadnavis ,” he added.

Singh said Ajit Pawar had great influence over medical colleges, “One of his cousins was a constituent of our council some years gone but we will not give in to similar personal favours and we are stronger than a part who is no more in divinity,” he said.

Bomi Bhote, CEO, Ruby Hall Clinic uttered, “This is a welcome move during the time that many BAMS and BHMS doctors, who were worried ready losing their jobs, can now rest unaffected. As a hospital, we get in addition assistants, too. It’s a gain over-win situation.”

Dr Sunil Rao, GM, Columbia Asia, afore~, “BAMS and BHMS doctors with us were not at all involved in surgical procedures but in that place are some hospitals where it is a habit which will now come to some end.”
